Chris; I've actually had (2) marathons and (1) Ironman that I paid for yet wasn't able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. I'm glad you were able to go with the flow and set your sights on another marathon!
This year a very good friend - the guy who started getting me fit about 10 years ago - will run his first marathon and I won't be able to be there. While it sucks, I just gotta take your example and go with the flow. :)
FYI: congrats on the ridiculous weight loss! Fantastic job man!

Sounds like that might actually be a blessing in disguise! Bronchitis can be nasty too... you don't need to be hitting the training plan too hard only to have it relapse! "Look out Nashville, here I come!" - rock it ;)

Thanks for the tip. Definitely not going to try to "make up" - can imagine that would not end well for me. You're right - I have enough issues with the knee without over-doing it ;)

Glad your knee is starting to feel better! If I could give you one piece of advice with only a month and a half till your big day, I'd say tryyy not to "make up" for missed runs. I don't know if that's what you think when you say "get back on track" but I'd try and just jump back into your training plan where ever it's at. You don't want the knee to be an issue with two weeks to go!

Good Recap. Congrats on the PR! That dude with the orange flag was supposed to be the 49:00 pace group. I was on his hip the whole time until the very end when I realized his timing device was wrong. I sprinted to salvage as much as possible but finished at 50:09. Kind of disappointed b/c I could have broken 50, but, all in all, I'm in agreement. Great race.
